Longevity:  Perennial

Lemon sherbet yellow. Double soft yellow blooms on medium plant. Ball or peony shaped blooms of 4-6 inches. Has freckled leaves. Can grow 4-8 feet wide in full sun to part shade in 6-36 inches of water. Food for medium or large ponds. Good bloomer, with attractive marbled foliage.

Hardy water lilies are planted using a loam garden soil and 2-3 fertilizer tablets. Hardy lilies grow horizontally. The rhizome should be planted at one edge of the container with the rhizome planted at an angle of about 45 degrees with the crown exposed. Top with an inch or two of pea gravel or sand. The plant can be lowered to a depth of 6 inches to begin with, and then lowered to a depth of 36 inches as the plant grows. Hardy lilies should be planted in early Spring and should be fertilized every 4 weeks. They bloom from June through September depending on the weather and become dormant during the colder months. As Spring approaches, growth will begin again.

  • Sunlight: 6-8 hours of direct sun.

  • Flower: Large deep pink, star-shaped blooms held above water.

Pink Sunrise Water Lily makes a beautiful addition to any pond or water garden. Features large, deep pink star shaped blooms held high above the water.held high above the water. Leaves are green with brown flecks. This is another of the subtle ones, perhaps even more so as the first flowers produced on young plants can be a bit disappointing. Very often they are almost white with a pink blush towards the base of each petal. However once established flowers are a very pleasing shade of pink and make a nice contrast to some of the really brash ones out there. This is a comparatively small growing plant which has a running rootstock (odorata) so is best planted in a large container or earth bottomed pool. I find 'Pink Sunrise' to be free flowering once it's fully established. Like many of Kirk's more subtle pinks this hybrid is not well known. The current fashion for more vibrant pinks seems to have pushed them into the background. Guaranteed fresh shipped direct from the grower!
